Please contact Ducks Beach Director Bryan Gee if you have any questions: beach@ducksvolleyball.ca

We have put into place high level programming that meets all of the current requirements and helps keep our staff and participants safe. Athletes, coaches and families safety is the most important thing at this time. We are also hopeful that by following these guidelines and working together, we can help volleyball return safely.  At this time, Volleyball BC is allowing training that is focused on skill development and small group training (similar to small group private training sessions) as well as the following guidelines:

  • 2m socially distanced training & skill development
  • No blocking (can be trained in isolation)
  • No competitions that do not adhere to 2m social distancing requirements *we are very hopeful in the next few weeks volleyball will move on to the next transition stage which will allow game play within our groups and possibly within the club
  • 6 athletes per court maximum and 1 coach
  • No mixing of athletes between training groups
  • No gatherings of larger than 50 (limit spectators)
  • Adequate time allowance between training session
  • Enhanced cleaning protocols

Please refer to our SAFETY PLAN & RETURN TO PLAY Page for detailed information

Yes, absolutely, all athletes from all clubs are welcome, there is no need for an Athlete Release Form

Ducks Beach uses Team Snap to manage all of their teams and communicate with athletes and families. All Ducks Beach athletes should download the app and become comfortable with the program. The Ducks ask that you input accurate information (email addresses and phone number contacts), we also ask that you turn on notifications and SMS notifications.

2020 Option only – Pay online through Team Snap

Once an athlete has been identified to a team, they will receive an email from Team Snap with instructions to complete and pay for the registration on the team they were placed on. Families can pay with Visa or Mastercard online.

In the case of severe weather, notifications regarding the cancellation of practice will take place 1 hour prior to the scheduled practice time via email (Team Snap).  Ducks Beach will train during mildly wet and cold conditions. The Ducks will attempt to create make up session, however, make up sessions will be based on court availability and weather conditions and are not guaranteed.

Athletes will be required to update their TeamSnap availability so coaches may plan accordingly.

We are required to keep detailed records of athletes that attend each session.

As a courtesy we do recommend speaking to the coach to give them a heads up as well during the previous practice

The programs have been flexibly created to adapt to varying numbers of participants due to circumstances that come up in the summer. However, we also believe that attending as many sessions as possible is critical to your development.

Our Ducks programs are organized in a manner that you do not require a partner to train in practice. Please come to practice with or without a partner, as you will all train as one team.

You do not need to register with a partner. If you have teammates in mind you will be able to list up to 3 during the registration process.

Due to the shortened season this year, the Ducks’ gear that is included with your registration fees is a T-shirt

Gear should arrive within 2 weeks of registration  and will be distributed at training sessions.

Please bring a water bottle, and dress appropriately for the weather. During cold or rainy days, long spandex and long sleeve shirts are recommended. During hot days, sun glasses, sun block, tank top, hat and spandex/shorts are recommended. You may need to purchase sand socks for really hot days.

Any athletes/families seeking financial assistance are asked to contact beach@ducksvolleyball.ca

Please register on the waitlist for a program if it is at capacity. This allows us to offer additional programming where demand dictates.

Space is extremely limited and we will do our best to place you in a training group with your requested teammates, however, groups will be decided based on ability and placement in a group is at the sole discretion of the Director of Ducks Beach. Your partner MUST register in time and obtain a space online. We cannot reserve space for athletes that were not placed when registering. Once programs are full, a waitlist will be created online.
